Pesaro Bicipolitana: coloured lines, kilometres and free rental
Updated 27 October 2026. The Bicipolitana is the cycle network of Pesaro, designed like a metro for bicycles. This guide summarises what the Municipality says about lines, kilometres, map and rental, without inventing data.

A metro for bicycles
The Municipality of Pesaro describes the Bicipolitana as the surface metro for two wheels: the rails are the cycle paths and the carriages are the bicycles. As in a metro, lines have a colour and dedicated signs. The official page, Bicipolitana on the Municipality website (in Italian), says the network is under construction: some lines are already built, others will follow soon and others will take longer.
The coloured lines
The history page of the Bicipolitana (in Italian) lists as built, for example, six lines: 1 red, 2 light blue, 3 green, 5 blue, 8 purple and 9 pink. Two links are described on the main page: the light blue line joins the Port to Fosso Sejore and the green line joins Baia Flaminia to Borgo Santa Maria, along the Foglia river. Before choosing a route look at your destination on the map, not only at the colour.
How big is the network
The project was approved in 2005. The most recent figure on the history page is 92 km of paths in 2021, with a target of a 180 km cycle network. The number changes over time, so ask the Municipality if you need an updated value.
Map and rental
The network map is published by the Municipality on the Bicipolitana page. If you do not have a bike, according to the page Muoversi in città (in Italian) the Curvone car park on viale dei Partigiani offers a free bicycle rental service to get around between the centre and the sea. No hours are given: check before you go.
With Nuovo Fiore's bicycles
Nuovo Fiore provides free bicycles and a private garage. The apartment is at Via Barignani 60, in the historic centre, and Ponente beach is about 800 m away. For suggested rides read Cycling in Pesaro; for children, Pesaro with children and San Bartolo Park.
